Generations of families and community members are what makes Orion special. Our town is unique and it’s the people who call Orion home that truly set us apart. We are a close-knit community who look out for each other, bringing out the best in everything we do. TRANSPARANCEY AND REPORTING REQUIREMENTS

Proper reporting of township fiduciary activities instills voter confidence and builds public trust. Over the past 35 years working for Orion Township, I have established solid associations with federal, state and local agencies to ensure transparency and compliance of all reporting responsibilities. Strict adherence to fiduciary reporting requirements keeps Orion leading the way for financial integrity. In addition, I work closely with both Orion Township and Oakland County Treasurer departments to obtain public input and approvals to levy voter approved millages used for tax collection.

My Story

Public safety is a priority. Leadership must equip our police and fire departments to meet the needs of a growing community. Public safety millages expire 12-31-2025 and we should begin planning for their successful passage. We need to enforce speed limits and install traffic lights on M24 to enhance safety. I fully support Lake Orion School Police Officers for our students.

We owe our seniors a debt of gratitude for investing in Orion. Our senior population is growing, and we need to enhance transportation services with extended hours. Respite care is needed for people struggling with long-term illness and we need to connect community resources to our aging population. I will continue to make it a priority to secure parkland and open space. Since being elected in 2008 we purchased the 137-acre Boy Scout Camp, developed a 38-acre park for sports fields, built a community center and outdoor amphitheater, and purchased Great Lakes Athletic Club. We must ensure we create an environment where our seniors are respected and welcomed at the Great Lakes Athletic Club with services that exceed the exiting senior center to enhance the overall well-being of our community elders.

There’s a clear path that points to integrity and transparency. When I started working in the Orion Assessing Department in 1989, I knew then that I would dedicate my career to serving you. Door to door field appraisal work gave the opportunity for us to meet and I have fostered those relationships as I moved from the Assessing Department to the Clerk’s Office as your Township Clerk. I will bring the same dedication and commitment to serving as your Orion Township Treasurer that I have demonstrated over the past 35 years.

As a community leader making decisions that shape the overall well-being of families in our Township I had the honor of serving on the North Oakland Community Coalition Board for 10 years. NOCC in partnership with Lake Orion Community Schools provided age appropriate drug and alcohol prevention education programs for all students. In addition, I served on the Parks and Recreation Advisory Board and was a strong advocate for providing recreational programs for families. Families are foundational in our community and through careful planning, we have built a safe network for families to thrive.
